Pet Tails

We often have clients that share a "tail" (story) about their pets with us. We would like to share these moments with all of our clients. Some are thank-you notes to the staff, others are stories of an event that just makes us smile.

Pets are a part of our family. They give us comfort and joy, they share their love unconditionally and bring us indescribable enjoyment.

Please take a moment and share a "tail" with us and our friends at the Glenview Animal Hospital. Feel free to include a picture. They in themselves are worth a thousand words.

Email your story and photo to: photos@glenviewanimalhospital.com. Please be sure to include your name and your pet’s name.

Dear Glenview Animal Hospital staff,

Although I write this with a very sad and heavy heart, I want to thank all of you who have helped me take care of our Allie Girl. She was a wonderful pet and she brought us great joy. She will be missed but I hope that time will heal my sad heart. Chris you were right with your advise when you said "let the tears flow!" I did not realize what you meant but I sure do now! This journey called "life" has it's difficult moments but I like to believe that Allie Girl is whole, happy and free with my mother in law in the place I call Heaven.

Thank you again Dr. Kanter for your kindness, advice and loving heart. I always knew Allie was getting great care from all of you at the Glenview Animal Hospital. I am sending a photo of her when she was happy and healthy in her yard, enjoying her freedom and sunshine. If you are able to display her happy smile for all to see, treasure and love, we would be proud to show she was your patient for her 14 wonderful years. She remains forever in our hearts and prayers.

Thank you again,
Nancy, Ralph, Michael and Christopher DeLetto

hello dr. cohen...

i was quite heartbroken the day i walked into your office on thursday to have you take a look at my furry pawed man charlie for the first time who was suffering from cancer. i wanted to gracefully thank you for taking the time to see him, even though he wasn't always a patient of yours...for this alone i am truly grateful...you opened up your compassionate heart to him and i and i will never forget that kind act of benevolence you shared with me. i know i was overwhelmed with emotions and couldn't stop weeping, but i have gained a strength from within my broken soul the past couple of days since his passing and wanted to let you know how special it was to me to have you take care of this difficult process. i was happy that he was in your wondrous hands when his last breath was sweetly whispered to me.

i wanted you to know that even though i was drowning in tears and misery at that moment, i was able to feel the warmth of compassion beaming through you and lovely jenna during this heartbreaking task. you've made charlie's exit of life gently touching to my fractured spirit. i will always carry within my heart the beautiful memories him and i shared and know that those are the captivated moments that will heal my broken heart to make it whole again.

i received in the mail today and was warmly touched by the emotions i felt as i opened the envelope to find charlie's pawprints on the card with the heartwarming verse printed on it...not to mention the lovely calla lily sympathy card handwritten with a lovely sentiment that the gift was heartfully wrapped in. thank you from the depths of my graceful soul for making this beautiful 12 year chapter of my life sweetly end in beautiful harmony. charlie is now resting in peaceful slumber...his footprints will forever be etched in my thoughtful mind and loving heart...i miss him with each and every second that passes by...

graceful thanks for sharing your compassionate heart with charlie and me...we are truly blessed!

We have been coming to Glenview Animal Hospital since Misti was 5 weeks old. You are very professional, compassionate and thorough in caring for her. I must admit sometimes we are there more often than not, but you have given her good care and have made us feel comfortable in your treatment of her as well as us. Dr. Cohen and Dr. Kanter are equal in my book and each have their own way of giving us the best. Of course Chris, Christi, and Kayla are the best. Debbie and Dawn are the first ones we see when we arrive and they always put us at ease. I have observed that everyone who comes in seems to be at ease and comfortable when they arrive. The 'front greeters' set the tone. Thank you are very much for your excellent care of my pet and your obvious love of animals.

Dear Dr. Cohen, Dr. Kanter, and all of you wonderful animal lovers at Glenview Animal Hospital,

Doug and I appreciate the card you just sent. It was a difficult decision to let Spud go. He had been a part of our lives for 15 ½ years! In all the years of bringing our pets to you, we could always count on thorough exams, thoughtful treatment of illnesses, and competent care for our pets. We wish to thank all of you for all you’ve done in the past, and especially for Spud. We attribute his long life to excellent health care from all of you. Many thanks for everything.

Sincerely,
Doug and Sally Williams

Dr. Kanter,

I’m sorry we didn’t have much contact the last few days of Charlie’s life. I wanted you to know what a compassionate and smart doctor you are. I appreciated all our talks and your ear so much. Who knows if I would have done things differently. I do know everyone involved did their very best.

My guy, Charlie, is on a great big cloud/couch smiling down on all of us!

Come the end of May, I’m happy to announce, "Ted" will come to be a new patient at Glenview Animal Hospital. He is a liver and white Springer-field from Canada. You’ll meet him at about 9-10 weeks. Can’t wait to do it all over again. That’s what it’s all about.

Thank you for being Charlie’s vet-

Best wishes-
Meta and Rick Joutras
